WK47: 🍕LA HACIENDA BRIGHTON🍕. Spanish for something🤷‍♂️. Google it💻. I don’t get paid for this. These tios are primos to the Bob & John’s vatos on Hertel🇲🇽, but unrelated to La Hacienda Niagara Falls💔. Another jagged edgeless piece of the #buffalopizza 🧩puzzle🔮, Brighton has a character all its own and sits just a few minutes down from last week’s DiPaulo’s. I usually dodge “new name same pizza💁‍♀️”, but they’ve been crankin’ since the 70s✌️and sometimes you just find out after the fact. Plus, these pizzas don’t eat themselves my babies. Y’all wanted this from the votes last week☑️so here I am for you. So speakith the DMs🧞‍♂️. Enough chit chat. Large Cheese & Pep = $18.99. For the Bad Hombres out there, “Lo venden por $18.99”. #sexyslices just saved you a whole Rosetta Stone💸. Vamos.

Dough🥖:(C+) I expected B&J’s and was let down. No hollow crisp “thud”. A deflated fluff that fell somewhat flat. This time around, the love story was a quickie and it just didn’t feel the same😭. Under-baked, though not ruined.

Cheese🧀:(A-) Ooey Gooey (we should outlaw that phrase) white hot pleasure (that too). It lacks that browning, crisp, and full coverage, but the herb-sprinkled magma mat🌋of hot mozz delivers a satisfying dominating chew in every bite. Incredible bright flavor. Pretty damn good.
.
.
Sauce🥫:(A/A+) The “Dr. Pepper 10”🚫👩of sauce. The “5 Gum”🚫😺experience. It’s punchy and pungent like that sock🧦stuffed under your dresser. Spread heavily throughout the pie, it’s ladled with a splash☔️and hitting the high notes and tickling ma’fancy.
.
.
Pepperoni🍖:(B+) Not sure if this is the standard “La Hacienda” Pepperoni because I recall B&J’s being flatter than the Dolly Parton cups💃over here, though I’n not necessarily mad about it. It’s spicy, fatty, and chewy…but not beyond the reaches of the “average” range.

Overall🍕:(B+ 87.75) Kissing cousin👫of Bob & John (New Orleans roots), Brighton puts out a pie that’s akin to the beloved Hertel legend, but didn’t quite live up the thrill of BJ’s😏. Frankly, not much does (hot tamale). A knockout sauce/chesse combo crippled by a rushed bake lands it at the higher end of average land👌. Way she goes.
