Ok, you asked for this, Buffalo. I put a thread up on reddit (/r/buffalo) a while ago pertaining to where I should go for my last 20 or so reviews, and this hit pretty close to the top. Little known fact that I discovered doing some light research as I like to do, “We Never Close” is NOT in fact named “We Never Close”, but “Cameron’s 24hr Store”. Neat. Anyhow, a few of you hooligans, most likely marijuana enthusiasts, are really HIGH on Cameron’s (as it shall be referred to henceforth) because they offer super cheap $0.99 slices that outperform on value. We’ll we shall see about that. 2+White Owl Grape = $3.87. Boom shaka-laka.

Ok in the spirit of the game (and the flow of the liquor) I hit Cameron’s at about 12:30am, not knowing what the slice situation would be like. I figured if all else failed, I would grab a Slim Jim and a couple of Yoo-Hoos for my buddies, MY PALS! Good news is, Cameron’s doesn’t give a flying fuck what time it is, they’re serving up them slices whenever you like because that’s how you run the game, son. They look dry as hell and not too appealing, but it’s got more visual appeal than 7-11 pizza right now, so we’re clearing the bar. On to the flavorz.

Cameron’s cheese is…well it’s not good. It got a little blackened on parts, or as they refer to it “Cajun Style” (not true), and it lost almost all attributes that make cheese the beautiful young woman that she is today. No pull, no flavor (apart from a little burnt), and no chew texture

Here is a fun little section where the remainder ripped off leaving me with an abrasive bread stick.

Cameron’s dough is actually…acceptable, I guess is what we’re going with. The crust was like eating fiberglass, but the actual dough under the cheese wasn’t that bad. Chewy and a little fluffy. I don’t know if it’s fresh-made or frozen, but I imagine if this pie came directly out of the oven it wouldn’t be half bad. I can live with this.

The bottom got a little burnt on the one slice, but I guess it added flavor? Really, it’s still not an excellent category, but it’s probably going to be the best of the bunch today.

Cameron’s sauce if a little offensive. At this point, it had dried into a sickeningly sweet paste that was separated out in nuggets (knock it off, Cheech) throughout the slice. No bueno, amigos. Difficult to find a shot of it, so this is the best we’ve got. Hope that’s good enough for you, Dad! 🙁

Cameron’s pepperoni is bland. I almost got fully through slice #2 until I realize that I had forgotten to look out for it. It really didn’t register on the pallet, and when I focused upon it, there wasn’t much to take away. One of my slices butted up next to a banana pepper section, and those were great (as they generally are on pizza), so if I were stumbling in during the wee hours I would for sure get a topping that’s a little bolder. Still, ok amount but just not great stuff. It’s go time, kids.

Cameron’s 24hr store is a Buffalo staple that I haven’t often visited due to it being just out of comfortable walking distance from my apartment. For a lot of people, it’s an integral fixture of their routine. Above all, you’ve gotta respect the 24hr policy. That’s a tough racket. A friend of mine once told me that you knew the blizzard was really bad if “We Never Close” wasn’t open. It’s like DEFCON 1 for Buff State. But as far as the pizza goes, I’ll tell it like it is. At midnight at a $0.99 price point when Mr. Pizza (across the street) is no longer slanging slices, I would absolutely hit up Cameron’s. It is poor quality pizza, especially in the condition I received it, but for $0.99/slice it is a solid value. It is technically still pizza and the dough will do a stomach good in a rocky state. That’s about the only condition I’m throwing it in the mix. Still not the worst I’ve ever had! The run ends next week, Buffalo! Rounding the corner to the final #52! Thanks for all your support. Have a great week!
